HOW TO MEASURE

FOR GIRLS AND SUB-TEENS

Children grow so

rapidly that it is important to measure carefully each time you

order.

If

measurements come between two sizes, order larger

size. Remember, her age doesn't tell you what size your

child wears. Recheck measurements each time you order.

Measure Chest or Bust around body at fullest part of chest or

bust. Hold tape snugly well up over shoulder blades.

Measure Height-Have child remove shoes and stand nat–

urltlly against wall. Make mark level with top of head.

Measure from this point to llocir.

Measure Hips in straight line around body at fullest part

of hips (about 7 inches below

0

waist).

Measure Waist around smallest part at natural waistline.

FOR WOMEN

'If

hip and waist measurements are

be~

tween two sizes, order size nearest these two measurements.

Waist and hip sizes are the most important. Hold tape firm but

not

tight.

Measure Around Hips at fullest part. This

is

an important

measurement.

Measure Waist around smallest part at natural waistline.

Measure Bust around body at fullest part of bust. Do not let

tape slide down shoulder blades in back.

Measure length from "bump" at back of neck to waist and

on down to hem.

FOR MEN

Have someone else take your measurements if

possible. In the catalog description of each garment, we tell

you the measurements we need to fit you properly. Send us

these.exact body measurements. Make no extra allowances.

Measure Chest close up under arms, snug but not tight, with

tape over shoulder blades. Measure over shirt for suits, sport

and leisure coats, topcoats, raincoats.

Measure

"1

aist over trousers wi tl1 belt off. Or take trousers

that fit and measure around buttoned waistband.

Measure Inseam from close up in crotch to bottom of trousers

to lengtl1 desired.

FOR BOYS

Order by size, not by child's age, since children of the

same age vary greatly in size. MEASURE CHILD EACH TIME YOU ORDER

to insure correct fit. Measure height without shoes. Measure chest around

body over shirt under arms and over tips of shoulder blades (for outer–

wear measure chest over heaviest clothing to be worn underneath). Meas–

ure waist around body over underwear at smallest part.

Measurements are for boys' trousers with elastic in waist, and clothing

other than troLJsers.

If

ineasurements fall between sizes order next larger

size. Order only sizes listed with each catalog number.

Have knife blade moved to the ioint

of the inside of the foot (widest partl,

as shown in Point Number

and again make a mark with the

pencil along the outside edge of

the blade.

Next, have the knife blade placed

at back of the heel, as shown in

Point Number

another mark. along the outside edge

of the blade. Be sure that the knife

is held straight

up

and down.

And

lost, hove knife

blade

placed

at widest part of the outside of your

foot, as shown in Point Number

This gives us your exact foot meas–

urement, so do not send us pencil
